Australian College of Remote and Rural Medicine Independent Pathway
Successful completion of the program requirements will result in the award of Fellowship of the College, or FACRRM, recognising the breadth and depth of skills needed to practise safely and independently in clinically isolated locations
Provides access to 100% A1 Medicare rebates while progressing towards Fellowship
Flexibility to manage own learning and training posts dependent on their current skills and knowledge
12 months core clinical training including six mandatory rotations in emergency medicine, general medicine, general surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, and anaesthetics
24 months primary rural and remote training
Six (6) months hospital/emergency
Six (6) months community primary care
12 months rural and remote practice
12 months advanced specialised training (AST)
Residency / citizenship OR Permanent residency status OR Australian temporary residency (skilled migration or business visas - student visa is not permitted)
